You have to actually explain why this incongruity is unhealthy for the game. The closest you’ve come to it is that all other things in the game are reactively dodgeable (not actually true but I’ll be generous and give you some leeway here), but that’s an observation not a reason.

Feel free to actually make a real argument for why it should be changed. I can think of a number of good reasons for why the musket should remain a hitscan, but I’m not going to keep offering up shit for you to just say no to. That is not the case, and asserting as much isn’t a replacement for supporting reasoning. “If Life Staff damage wasn’t overtuned why wouldn’t you be an advocate for reducing it by 90%?” It’s not my job to defend what is it’s your job to first present a compelling argument for why what is should be otherwise, and so far your argument boils down to that a musket with hitscan is easier to use than one without hitscan, and then an assertion that this makes it holistically the easiest weapon in the game to use, with follow-up logic that this means it needs to be changed. Hitscan is simply one of the advantages of the musket, just like it’s simply one of the advantages of certain characters or weapons in other games. As a stand-alone quality of a weapon it makes it easier to use, but that is but one aspect out of many, many aspects of the weapon. You’d think you were talking about the Great Axe. It’s actually insane how salty you are towards the musket. Just shooting wildly isn’t enough as you need to connect with multiple successive shots on one target or tracking and executing weakened targets to be useful. With a musket you have to be pressuring vulnerable targets or actually finishing off specific melee members to have the same impact. It’s not the most effective way to play with a bow but it is an actually viable option. It’s very easy to just stand at medium range and spam high bow DPS into the melee cluster and run if someone goes for you.

Holistically I would say the musket has both a higher skill ceiling and floor as an overall weapon. The abilities of the musket are harder to use than the bow abilities even if the basic shots are easier to use. The only weapon that requires more skill than the musket is the bow, and even that’s dependent on context. I do it and have it done to me literally dozens of times every day I play. You can’t reactively dodge it but you can just time out the shots. Aiming requires skill, lol, and hitscan changes that precisely zero percent.
